FOR RELEASE JUNE 5, 1996

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN RELEASES EIGHTYREZ(TM), NEW EDITOR FOR APPLESCRIPT
DICTIONARIES

[Note: I have made every effort to send this announcement only to
distributors of Macintosh software news who are seeking releases of this
type. If I have sent this in error to anyone who is not in this category, I
apologize.]

Gary McGath, dba Conceptual Design, is releasing a new Macintosh
application, EightyRez, for developers of scriptable software. This
application allows easy editing of ‘aete’ and ‘aeut’ resources, otherwise
known as AppleScript dictionaries.

Up to this time, there has been a lack of professional-quality tools for
editing AppleScript dictionaries. The general-purpose resource editors have
ranged from being completely inadequate (ResEdit) to being afterthoughts in
a general-purpose application (Resorcerer). Various freeware tools have
been developed, but all have drawbacks. EightyRez is a supported,
commercial product specifically for the editing of dictionary resources.

Features of EightyRez include:

– Viewing of resources as collapsible outlines

– Stationery files for common suites

– Cutting and pasting of whole suites or individual elements

– Exporting of dictionary listings and Rez source files

– Pop-up menus for selecting commonly used values

– Printed documentation and Apple Guide help

– E-mail support

EightyRez requires Mac OS 7.0 or higher and a 68020 or higher processor.
Eight megabytes of memory are recommended.

The purchase price is $40.00 US, plus $2.00 shipping within the US and
Canada, or $10.00 elsewhere or for second-day air delivery in the US.
EightyRez is not for sale to the U.S. government or its agencies, in view
of its ongoing hostility to our liberties, particularly the Communications
Decency Act and restrictions on cryptographic software. Site licenses are
negotiable.
