Here's what that means for users when visionOS 27 launches.More spatial accessories can be built for Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 27When Apple initially launched Apple Vision Pro, it was very proud of the hand and eye tracking it had developed. Controllers weren't even mentioned beyond PlayStation's standard one for playing 2D iPad games.Slowly, it seems Apple realized that having zero haptic or physical feedback in games and interactions would severely impact what was possible. visionOS 26 introduced spatial accessories, and now visionOS 27 is expanding what is possible, both with fully realized controllers and basic objects. Macworld Apple’s WWDC26 keynote was focused on new AI-based features, including Siri AI and Apple Intelligence. The demonstrations during the keynote portray the new AI features as powerful ways for users to be more productive, efficient, and creative. But in order to unleash all that power, you have to have a device that’s compatible. Because there is varying level of AI implementation here, the compatibility list seems as complicated as the tech created to run these features. The compatibility list for each device breaks down to the following levels: xOS 27 compatibility without Apple Intelligence and Siri AI xOS 27 compatibility including Apple Intelligence and Siri AI Devices that can run xOS 27 and Apple Intelligence/Siri AI with on-device AI models The main difference with the on-device AI models is, according to Apple, “helpful features like expressive voices and higher-accuracy dictation.” Here’s a lowdown on the level of AI features Apple will offer in the xOS 27 updates this fall, and the devices that are compatible with them. iPhone compatibility Apple Summary If you want to be able to run everything–iOS 27, Apple Intelligence, and Apple Intelligence features that use on-device models–you need an iPhone 17 Pro or later, or an iPhone Air. To be able to run iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence without the on-device model features, you need an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, or an iPhone Air. Any other iPhone as far back as the iPhone 11 will run iOS 27 without Apple Intelligence. iOS 27 is compatible with: iPhone SE (2nd generation) iPhone 11 and later iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max and later iPhone 12 mini and later iPhone 14 Plus and later iPhone 16e and later iPhone Air However, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI are not compatible with all the iPhones on the above list. iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI requires: iPhone 16 and later iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max and later iPhone 16 Plus iPhone 16e and later iPhone Air Apple Intelligence compatibility goes a step further. During the keynote, Apple’s Craig Federighi said, “Our most powerful on-device model and the features it enables, like expressive voices and more advanced dictation, will be coming to our most capable iPhone, iPad, and Mac systems.” The list of iPhones that support on-device Apple Intelligence models is short: iPhone 17 Pro and later iPhone Air07:01 pmApple’s premium Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable is nearly half-off with this code
Macworld Apple Thunderbolt 5 Pro 3.3ft cable View Deal (function () { document.querySelector("#sticky-promo-block a").addEventListener("click", function(e) { const debug = document.location.host.search(/lndo.site|go-vip.net/) !== -1; const text = this.closest("#sticky-promo-block").querySelector("p.promo-title").textContent; const data = { event: "stickyConversionUnitClick", eventCategory: "Sticky Conversion", eventAction: "Click", eventLabel: text }; if(debug)console.log("Sticky Conversion CLick - pushing to dataLayer: ", data); dataLayer.push(data); return true; }); })(); Apple’s 1-meter Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable is down to $47 from $69 at Woot, which is already a great price for an ultra-high-end cable that rarely goes on sale. However, when you enter APPLEFIVE at checkout, you’ll get an extra $5 off, bringing it down to $42, and if you’re a new Woot customer, that code knocks off $10 instead, landing you the cable for just $37. The cable carries full Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth, high-wattage charging, and proper display output all at once. That combination matters when you’re running premium gear like your MacBook Pro. If you connect a high-end monitor, a docking station, or fast external storage that depends on real speed, a cable that can’t keep up quietly bottlenecks everything. This one won’t. That’s also where Apple’s own cable earns its price. Plenty of USB-C cables look identical from the outside, but many don’t support the same mix of speed, video, and power. Buying one that’s clearly rated for the job removes that guesswork, which is worth something when you’re plugging in equipment that costs a lot of money. Before you shell out the money, think about whether you actually need this cable. If you’re just charging a phone, you won’t need it. If you have a laptop with a TB5 port, however, it will come in handy. The cable doesn’t just match Thunderbolt 5 ports with data transfer up to 120Gb/s, but also Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4 data transfer up to 80Gb/s. It also supports DisplayPort 2.1 video and delivers up to 240W of charging. The braided design fights against tangling and helps the cable coil neatly. This cable is only one meter long, but that’s a sensible length for reaching a monitor, dock, or drive sitting near your MacBook. At $47 — or closer to $37 for new customers with APPLEFIVE — this is an easy pick if you own high-end Thunderbolt gear and want a cable you can trust to handle all of it.07:00 pmApple’s iOS 27 just dropped major clues about its long-awaited foldable iPhone
