Usually graphics are static images in your web site linked as "(IMG SRC..." HTML tags. Suppose that your graphics comes from dynamic data and that this data changes every day (or more). If you have static graphics you have to manually rebuild your graphics every day. With SendGraphic you can avoid this. In fact it builds graphics in real time so that they always match your data. Mac OS Runtime for Java Bulletin Apple has just posted the Java Foundation Classes ("Swing") Early Access 0.7 software to its "Apple & Java" web site at (http://applejava.apple.com/text/prerelease.html). This software is identical to the JFC 0.7 software posted at JavaSoft's site (java.sun.com), but is packaged and organized in a format that makes it immediately usable for Macintosh developers. It has also been tweaked slightly to fix a few minor problems that affected usability on the Macintosh. JFC 0.7 requires version 2.0 of Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ). Apple Reports First Fiscal Quarter Results CUPERTINO, California--Jan. 14, 1998--Apple Computer, Inc. today announced financial results for its fiscal 1998 first quarter which ended Dec. 26, 1997. For the quarter, the Company generated revenues of $1.6 billion and unit sales of 635,000. The Company recorded a quarterly net profit of $47 million, resulting in basic and diluted earnings per share of $.37 and $.33, respectively. Apple recorded a net loss of $161 million, or $(1.26) per share, in the September quarter, and recorded a net loss of $120 million, or $(.96) per share, in the year-ago quarter. The Company achieved gross margins of 22 percent during the quarter, compared to 20 percent in the September quarter and 19 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 50 percent of the Company's quarterly revenues.
