Synology releases DSM 6.1
Synology (www.synology.com) has released DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.1 and comprehensive packages, delivering a “more secure, productive, and unified NAS experience.” 
The DSM update delivers better IT efficiency with Active Directory Server, enhances performance with instant SMB server-side copy, ensures reliability with file self-healing, provides stability and security enhancements, and more. Key features of version 6.1 include: a next generation file system; active directory server, shared folder encryption, integration with Seagate’s IronWolf Health Management tool, universal search, the ability to back up files to or from a Synology NAS by simply plugging in a USB storage device, and more. Ben Software has rolled out SecuritySpy 4.1, an update to the multi-camera CCTV software for the Mac. With features such as motion detection, flexible video/audio capture, and remote monitoring and configuration, SecuritySpy is designed for demanding video surveillance applications. The new version — a free upgrade for 4.x license holders — provides new, joystick-like PTZ controls, a new email relay service, UPnP support for automatic router configuration, higher-resolution thumbnails for captured footage, improved ONVIF auto-discovery, and more. Apple Park to open in April
Apple says that Apple Park, the company’s new 175-acre campus, will be ready for employees to begin occupying in April. The process of moving more than 12,000 people will take over six months, and construction of the buildings and parklands is scheduled to continue through the summer. Envisioned by Steve Jobs as a center for creativity and collaboration, Apple Park is transforming miles of asphalt sprawl into a haven of green space in the heart of the Santa Clara Valley, according to CEO Tim Cook. The campus’ ring-shaped, 2.8 million-square-foot main building is clad entirely in the world’s largest panels of curved glass. Jobs would have turned 62 this Friday, Feb. 24. Apple releases Logic Pro X 10.3.1
Apple has updated Logic Pro X — its macOS software for professional songwriting, editing, and mixing — to version 10.3.1. According to Apple, the upgrade: ° Addresses issues that could cause regions to behave unexpectedly while moving them; ° Resolves an issue where regions on inactive Track Alternatives could get deleted; ° Global edits that cut or insert time are now also applied to inactive Track Alternatives; ° Projects using sample rates other than 44.1kHz can now be shared to GarageBand for iOS. Command-Tab-Plus for macOS gets redesigned interface
Note-Ify Apps has revved Command-Tab Plus (http://commandtab.noteifyapp.com), an alternative for the Mac's built-in Command-Tab app switcher, to version 1.1.0. With Command-Tab Plus, you use icon numbers to quickly select and switch between apps. To do that, use a shortcut to open the switch window and simply press the app number on the keyboard. Zevrix Solutions has announced Deliver Express 2.6, a feature update to the company's file transfer app that sends files automatically from watched hot folders with email notifications. TextSoap for macOS gets a maintenance upgrade
Unmarked Software (www.unmarked.com) has updated TextSoap, its macOS productivity tool designed to automate the tedious task of manually cleaning up text, to version 8.3.1.
 The software — compatible with macOS 10.10 or higher — processes text from different formats. Version 8.3.1 is a maintenance release designed to improve stability and address issues reported by customers. The upgrade is free to all TextSoap 8 customers. Customers may either update from within the app or directly download the update from Unmarked TextSoap 8.3.1 has a suggested retail price of $44.99 for new users.

LinkOptimizer for Adobe InDesign update improves JPEG Conversion
Zevrix Solutions has announced LinkOptimizer 5.0.15, a maintenance update to company's workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The tool allows uers to reduce the size of InDesign links and speeds up processing by eliminating excess image data. Link Optimizer also performs image adjustments, converts formats and helps repurpose files for web and mobile devices. Version 5.0.15 addresses an issue in which user defined image quality settings weren't applied when converting InDesign links to JPEG. LinkOptimizer can be purchased from the Zevrix website (www.zevrix.com) for $259.95 (a “lite” version is available for $179.95). A demo is available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 5.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.7 and higher and Adobe InDesign/Photoshop CS5-CC 20.

St. Clair Software (http://www.stclairsoft.com/) has released an upgrade (2.3) to App Tamer, its Mac utility that manages applications to deliver more efficient CPU usage and increased battery life. This version detects CPU-hogging applications and helps reduce their CPU usage. App Tamer comes pre-configured to automatically manage Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Spotlight, Time Machine, Word and many other apps when they're in the background. You can customize it for other apps, as well. App Tamer will operate on any Mac running macOS 10.8 or higher. You can try the utility free for 15 days. Version 2.3 is free to users who purchased App Tamer 2.x or bought App Tamer 1.x after July 1, 2013. For those that purchased a license before that date, the upgrade is $7.95.

Stunnix releases new version of Web4GUI
Stunnix has released a new version of Web4GUI (http://stunnix.com/prod/aws/), a tool that allows developers tto produce apps out of  PHP/Python/Java/MySQL websites. The apps produced with Web4GUI can run directly from CDs/DVDs/USB drives or network shares, and they look like usual desktop apps. Web4GUI allows developers to convert an already-existing site into an app in several clicks with little or few modifications to server-side and client-side code of the site. Also, Web4GUI allows the production of apps for Windows/Mac/Linux using web technologies like PHP/Python/Java/MySQL. For example, you can create an app out of your website that includes all posts and comments. You can distribute it on DVD or as .dmg/.exe file, so people can browse or search on your site and read comments without any Internet access. A free evaluation version is available for download.

Apple releases new public beta of iOS 10.3
Apple has released a second public beta of iOS 10.3. If you're not already signed up for the public beta program, you can do so at https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ . iOS 10.3 updates the file structure on an iOS device to the Apple File System (APFS). AFPS is optimized for Flash/SSD storage and features “strong encryption, copy-on-write metadata, space sharing, cloning for files and directories, snapshots, fast directory sizing, atomic safe-save primitives, and improved file system fundamentals.” The beta also includes a new "Find My AirPods" ability, additions to Siri, CarPlay improvements, and some changes to Maps. What’s more, Apple says that by the time iOS 10.3 is available to customers, developers will be able to respond to customer reviews on the Apple App Store.
