AKVIS releases Happy Birthday frame pack
AKVIS (www.akvis.com) has released its $17 Happy Birthday frame pack for Mac OS X 10.6 and higher. It includes 100 hand-painted designs. The frames can be used with the free AKVIS Frames software which has been updated to the version 2.0 and now supports ultra HD resolution. AKVIS offers a range of photo frame sets devoted to particular themes: countries, four seasons, holidays and events, hobbies and interests, etc. The frame packs can only be used with AKVIS Frames (freeware) and AKVIS ArtSuite (Home Standalone/Home Deluxe/Business). DB-Text for OS X upgraded to version 1.6.1
Tension Software has announced DB-Text 1.6.1 (http://tinyurl.com/jsradvt) for Mac OS X. DB-Text is a general use tool to open and edit CSV (Comma separated value) and TSV (Tab separated value) documents on OS X. It can open import, edit and manage text data organized by rows and columns. Data can be manipulated and exported as text (as CSV, TSV, html or custom format selecting separators and other tags) or saved inside a native DB-Text document. Version 1.6.1 is a maintenance release with bug fixes and performance tweaks. DB-Text requires OS X 10.10 or higher. It costs $9.99.

Apple releases iOS 9.3.4
Apple has released iOS 9.3.4. It’s available via an over-the-air download on all devices running iOS 9.x. According to Apple's release notes, iOS 9.3.4 provides "an important security update" and is recommended for all iOS 9 users. It comes two weeks after the release of iOS 9.3.3.

Total War: Warhammer coming to the Mac this autumn

Apple has released the second public betas of macOS Sierra and iOS 10 to public beta testers. The finished versions of the operating system updates are due this fall. MacWise 15.3 now compatible with El Capitan
Carnation Software has released MacWise 15.3 (www.macwise.com), an update to its terminal emulation software for Macintosh. MacWise allows a Macintosh to be used as a terminal, connected to a host computer directly, by modem, local area network or over the Internet with telnet or ssh secure shell. MacWise emulates ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, Televideo TV 925, DEC VT100, VT220 and Prism terminals. Version 15.3 is compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan and is backwards compatible to Snow Leopard. MacWise supports AppleScript commands. CPUG Network announces Ninth Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet
The Creative Pro User Group Network Network has announced the Ninth Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet, which will be held Sunday, Sept. 11 — once again at the Hotel Krasnapolsky in the heart of Amsterdam, NL. Zevrix Deliver now supports Microsoft Exchange email servers
Zevrix Solutions has released Deliver 2.5.6, a feature update to its file transfer solution with automatic email notifications. Apple celebrates one billion iPhones
At an employee meeting in Cupertino this morning, CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple recently sold the billionth iPhone. "iPhone has become one of the most important, world-changing and successful products in history. It's become more than a constant companion. iPhone is truly an essential part of our daily life and enables much of what we do throughout the day," said Cook. “Last week we passed another major milestone when we sold the billionth iPhone. Apple’s services revenue grows 19%; App Store hits all-time...
Apple has announced financial results for its fiscal 2016 third quarter that ended June 25. The company posted quarterly revenue of $42.4 billion and quarterly net income of $7.8 billion, or $1.42 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $49.6 billion and net income of $10.7 billion, or $1.85 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 38% compared to 39.7% in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 63 percent of the quarter’s revenue. “We are pleased to report third quarter results that reflect stronger customer demand and business performance than we anticipated at the start of the quarter,” said CEO Tim Cook. “We had a very successful launch of iPhone SE and we’re thrilled by customers’ and developers’ response to software and services we previewed at WWDC in June.” Apple sold 40.4 million iPhones (a 15% decrease from the year-ago period), almost 10 million iPads (a 9% increase in sales year-over-year), and 4.3 million Macs (down 11%...

MailButler allows you to schedule an email to be sent at a specific date and time. For example, you can compose birthday emails ahead of the actual date.
