Syntronik virtual instrument now shipping for Macs, PC
IK Multimedia (www.ikmultimedia.co) has released Syntronik for Mac and Windows systems. It’s a virtual instrument that packs a collection of vintage synthesizers. Syntronik melds advanced sampling techniques with a hybrid sample and modeling synthesis engine, a large assortment of high-quality modeled effects and innovative instrument features. It provides 17 instruments with over 2,000 sounds covering a wide selection from 38 synthesizers. XEffects 3D Video Walls plugin released for Final Cut Pro X
FxFactory has released a new Final Cut Pro X plugin called XEffects 3D Video Walls (http://tinyurl.com/y99hdrum). Developed by partner Idustrial Revolution, it allows the user to add moving video or still images to striking video walls in 3D space. A choice of pre-programmed moves are included. The plugin allows the user to choose the individual panel shape, the number and layout of panels along with the choice of material, position in 3D space and depth of field. A video editor can use a single panel positioned in 3D space with reflections and depth of field or put together a tumbling panel of 15 cells in three rows. 3D Video walls is launched at a discounted price of $49 for a month.

Videux is new video organizer/player for the Mac
Half8Fish has introduced Videux, an organizer, player, and workflow assistant for macOS. It’s designed for use with video collections. Videux can tag video collections with keywords, ratings, and flags. The software keeps track of model releases, license agreements, metadata, and more with the goal of making it easy to see at a glance the state of your video library. The full version of Videux Pro launches with an introductory offer of $99.99. Its requires macOS or higher and is available at the Mac App Store. AKVIS releases AKVIS Watercolor 2.0
AKVIS (www.akvis.com) has released AKVIS Watercolor 2.0, an update of the Mac compatible software for imitating different watercolor techniques. Version 2.0 adds an Abstract Art tab and new built-in presets. On the Mac platform, AKVIS Watercolor requires macOS 10.7 or higher. The product is available as a standalone application and as a plugin to photo editors such as AliveColors by AKVIS, Adobe Photoshop, and others. The Home sells for $49, the Deluxe for $69, and the Business for $89. One license key allows activating and using the software on two computers. Isabel Ge Mahe named Apple’s managing director of Greater China
Apple has announced that Isabel Ge Mahe, vice president of Wireless Technologies, has been named vice president and managing director of Greater China, reporting to CEO Tim Cook and COO Jeff Williams. Apple upgrades Logic Pro X to version 10.3.2
Apple has updated Logic Pro X — its macOS software for professional songwriting, editing, and mixing — to version 10.3.2. Version 10.3.2 adds three Drummers who play percussion in the styles of pop, songwriter and Latin. New Drummer loops can be added to your song, then customized with performance controls. The pitch of an audio region can now be transposed or fine tuned. Logic Pro X 10.3. improves responsiveness of the graphical user interface. New additive effects in Alchemy expand the options for filtering and modulating sound . The length of individual steps in the Arpeggiator plug-in are now adjustable. DigiDNA has introduced iMazing Mini, a free macOS utility designed to automatically backup iOS devices over any local Wi-Fi network. The app provides the ability to backup your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch whenever the device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac. Apple announces new customer support role in iTunes Connect
Apple has announced — via its Developer web portal (http://tinyurl.com/y8sz8dd7) — a new iTunes Connect feature that allows developer customer support teams to respond to submitted App Store reviews. Users with the Admin or Customer Support role have the ability to respond to customer reviews. Apple says that developer custom support teams’ admins may choose to assign only this role to users, or assign this role in combination with other roles. Users who have been assigned only the Customer Support role can access Resources and Help, Users and Roles, and My apps in iTunes Connect. When they click on an app in My Apps, they’ll go straight to Ratings and Reviews where they can respond to customer reviews. To ensure a smooth introduction to this new role, all users with the App Manager and Marketer roles have been automatically assigned the Customer Support role. Subway testing pre-orders using Apple Pay
Subway is testing app pre-orders and a designated pick-up area for mobile payers using Apple Pay. Subway had previously accepted Apple’s mobile payment service, but iPhone users can now also pre-order food through the company’s website, then pick it up in the particular area to avoid waits. The new tech-friendly “Fresh Forward” focus is testing at a dozen locations around the world currently with some elements of the plan expected to launch wider later this year. There are 12 pilot locations open today in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.: Tamarac, FL; Orlando, FL (2); Winter Park, FL; Chula Vista, CA; Knoxville, TN; Palmview, TX; Hillsboro, OR; Vancouver, WA; Beauport, QC; Granby, QC; and Manchester, U.K.

In celebration of World Emoji Day, Apple is sharing (http://tinyurl.com/y8ksmjux) some of the new emoji coming to iOS, macOS and watchOS later this year. With thousands of emoji available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, there are many ways to add personality to every message. Rixstep (www.rixstep.com) has announced Rixtag 2.4, a feature update to their macOS tag editor. The app allows users to edit macOS-based tags on files of any type, including regular files, directories, and more. Quark acquired by Parallax Capital Partners
Quark Software (www.quark.com) has been acquired by Parallax Capital Partners (Parallax), a Southern California-based software-focused private equity firm. The new owners intend to help Quark accelerate the adoption of its transformational content automation solutions through investment in organic growth and acquisitions, the companies said in a joint statement. Details of the acquisition haven’t been released.   Quark offers an end-to-end content automation platform that enables the creation, management, publishing and delivery of content across print, Web and digital channels. The company was founded in Denver, Colo. in 1981 and is best known to Mac users as the company behind the Quark XPress desktop publishing software.

PayPal now available on the App Store, Apple Music, iTunes
Starting today in Canada and Mexico, and rolling out in other countries including the U.S. soon, PayPal customers will be able to pay for App Store, Apple Music, iTunes and iBooks purchases across iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices using their PayPal account. Customers with a new or existing Apple ID can select “PayPal” as their payment method from their account settings in the App Store, Apple Music, iTunes and the iBookStore from their iOS device or Mac — or on iTunes from a PC.  Once PayPal has been selected, all future purchases with the customer's Apple ID will be automatically charged to their PayPal account. This includes purchases of apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books, as well as Apple Music subscriptions and iCloud storage. Apple posts new iOS 10.3.3 and macOS 10.12.6 betas
Apple has released the sixth iOS 10.3.3 beta and the sixth macOS 10.12.6 beta. They’re available in both developer and public betas. If you're not already signed up for the public beta program, you can do so at https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ . The public beta program is free, but remember: beta software is unfinished software so use with care. The developer version can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center.

AirBeamTV now supports video file playback from Masc to Smart TVs
AirBeamTV has launched version 2.0 of their macOS screen mirroring apps for smart and connected TVs. The apps support all major TV brands, including Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku and Chromecast. Users now have the option to play video files directly from Macs to TV. The new modern user interface provides a better look and feel, and easier and faster access to all the settings, according to Jan van Ottele, co-founder and CEO of AirBeamTV. The Software Hub (http://www.the-software-hub.com) has announced Screenshot Auto-Rename 1.3, an update to its screenshot capturing utility for macOS. It will name your screenshot according to the snapped window's name, or alternatively gives you the option to manually choose the destination folder and rename the screenshot before it is saved. If you don't want to save the screenshot, you can snap it directly to your clipboard. In version 1.3, users can now select their default folder. Screenshot Auto-Rename 1.3 requires macOS 10.6 or later. It costs $5.99 and is available at the Mac App Store in the Productivity category.

Zevrix Solutions has announced Graphic Inspector 2.3, a feature update to company's quality control solution for images and vector files. The utility is deigned to solve the problem of quickly finding files with specific resolution, color, spot channels, fonts and other attributes. The app can also search metadata, report image compression, and save search criteria in workflow specific presets. Apple announces donation plan for U.S. national parks
Apple has introduced new ways customers can enjoy and support America’s national parks next month. From July 1 through 15, Apple is donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made with Apple Pay at any Apple Store, on apple.com or through the Apple Store app in the US. Zevrix Solutions has announced LinkOptimizer 5.1, a feature update to company's workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Creaceed (http://www.creaceed.com/) has updated Hydra, a macOS tool for HDR image creation, to version 4.1. The upgrade features an improved tone mapper with a new color grading technique. Hydra is a software that gives human eye perception to photography by creating high dynamic range (HDR) images from a series of regular photographies. The software uses a number of regular photographs with different expositions (darker and lighter photos) to create one that’s closer to what one's eye can see.
