A Pascal translation of Macintosh C
Version 2.2 is available.

Macintosh C, which is intended primarily for users of the Metrowerks CodeWarrior development system, comprises:

  1. A book.

  2. An associated package of demonstration program files.

The book component is available in:

  1. An HTML version for on-line browsing at this site.

  2. A Microsoft Word 98 version for downloading from this site.

  3. A PDF version for downloading from this site.

The demonstration program packages may also be downloaded from this site.

Changes and additions since Version 2.2 are listed in the Preface.

Version 2.3 of Macintosh C is the first version to be subtitled Classic Edition. This is to assist in differentiating it from the later work titled Macintosh C Carbon: A Hobbyists's Guide to Programming the Mac OS in C, which is oriented towards the Carbon Application Programming Interface (API).

Download Vers 1.2 4,819 KB

Version 2.0 was the first version of Macintosh C to address Mac OS 8. If, for one reason or another, you need to stay with System 7, Version 1.2 (Frozen) remains available for download. Version 1.2 (Frozen) is essentially Version 1.1 with the demonstration program project files updated for Version 3.0 of the Metrowerks CodeWarrior IDE, and the demonstration program source code files amended slightly to render them compatible with Version 3.2 of the Universal Headers. The book component is in PDF format.
