Rumpus FTP 4.3 Receives Major Update

Remote administration, improved international language support, automated
error detection and simplified management top the list of updates to
class-leading file transfer server.

December 8, 2005 – Rumpus FTP, the premier Internet file transfer server
for Macintosh, has been significantly improved in the latest update from
Maxum Development. Rumpus 4.3, released today, includes dozens of updates,
and several major new capabilities:

Remote Administration

The Rumpus control application can now be used to monitor access, define
users and adjust settings of a Rumpus server from any desktop Mac.

Automatic Problem Detection

Rumpus now automatically checks for common problems, such as server
conflicts and firewall contention, and tells administrators how to resolve
them.

Settings Backup Assistant

Rumpus settings, including preferences, user accounts, and other
configuration files can now be backed up easily using a simple assistant.

Extended Character Support

Rumpus now offers much improved support for extended (European) character
sets in both FTP and WFM file operations.

Other Bug Corrections And Updates

More than a dozen other minor feature improvements and bug fixes have also
been made, including: users are now removed immediately from the “active
users” list when they log out, logs can now be rolled to other file system
volumes, e-mail spam filter compatibility has been improved and default
networking timeout values have been increased for more reliable transfers.

Rumpus 4.3 Standard Edition is priced at $249, or $79 to upgrade from any
previous Rumpus version. A Professional Edition for larger organizations
and ISPs is priced at $395, or $129 for the upgrade. In accordance with
Maxum’s “One Year Of Free Upgrades” policy, version 4.3 is free for any
Rumpus customer who has purchased the product since July 1, 2004.
