Onset Computer Corporation Announces Satellite Communications Option For
Hobo Weather Stations

BOURNE, MA, April 17, 2006 – Onset Computer Corporation, a leading supplier
of battery-powered data loggers and weather stations, today announced
SolarStream Satellite, a new, satellite-based wireless transceiver designed
exclusively for Mac-compatible HOBO Weather Stations.

With SolarStream Satellite, researchers and growers can now remotely access
HOBO Weather Stations and Micro Stations deployed anywhere in the world
covered by the ORBCOMM satellite network. The transceiver enables users to
download weather station data, view real-time graphs, adjust sample rates,
check battery status, and verify weather station operation. It also
provides automatic alarm notification via cell phone text messages or email
when conditions exceed limits.

“Many customers deploy HOBO weather stations in locations throughout the
world that aren’t necessarily easy to get to, from the Atacama Desert in
Chile to the McCall Glacier in Alaska,” said Paul Gannett, product
marketing manager for Onset. “SolarStream Satellite saves these customers
time and money by eliminating the need to travel to remote sites to
retrieve data and verify system status. Additionally, it greatly expands
wireless coverage for HOBO Weather Stations in areas that aren’t covered by
pager-based SolarStream systems.”

SolarStream Satellite makes system configuration and deployment a snap. The
system connects with HOBO Weather Stations with a single cable, and
features an Internet-based software platform that allows all set up and
data access functions to be performed over the web. Secure data access is
provided via password-protected accounts and 128-bit data encryption.

SolarStream Satellite works exclusively with Onset’s family of
research-grade weather stations, which includes the 15-channel HOBO Weather
Station and 4-channel HOBO Micro Station. Both weather stations can be
configured with any combination of Onset’s plug-and-play smart sensors.
Sensors are available for measuring temperature, relative humidity, dew
point, rainfall, soil moisture, photosynthetic light (PAR), solar
radiation, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, 4-20mA, 0-5VDC,
and pulse outputs. Onset’s Mac-based HOBOware software allows users to
quickly and easily display, analyze, and export data collected with HOBO
Weather Stations.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

SolarStream Satellite is currently available from Upward Innovations, Inc.,
and is priced at $979. Full pricing and ordering information is available
at http://www.upwardinnovations.com. HOBO Weather Stations, which are sold
