Turn Your Computer into a Powerful Synthesizer

BitHeadz, Inc. has released Retro AS-1 Analog Synthesizer for Mac and
Windows, a program that uses your computer's processor to generate analog
sounds and textures that previously required expensive hardware
synthesizers.

With Retro AS-1 you can design your own new and exciting sounds, thanks to
the familiar analog style editor screen. The user can select from 9
different waveforms to assign to Retro's 3 oscillators and then alter the
sound using its versatile filter, modulation, and effects controls. Retro
is capable of playing back several different sounds at once when used with
a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) compatible sequencer program.
You can create multi-instrument compositions and play them back all within
your computer, and you can select from over 1000 of Retro AS-1's included
sounds to play live from a MIDI keyboard. You can also trigger sounds from
the on-screen keyboard or the Qwerty keys on your computer. An extensive
arpeggiator is also included for easily creating interesting repeating
patterns. The software is available on CD-ROM, and no additional hardware
is required for the Mac. The PC version requires Direct Sound compatible
sound card.
