VOODOO Server - Robust and Efficient Version Control the Macintosh Way
San Francisco, CA (MacWorld 1999), January 3-1999, exactly one year
after UNI SOFTWARE PLUS has received the MacWorld/MacTech Eddy award
for their version control tool VODOOO, the company is going to
introduce a complete new and highly improved client/server version of
VOODOO, named "VOODOOO Server" at this year's MacWorld Expo San
Francisco.
Unlike most other version control solutions available for Macintosh
computers, VOODOO Server features a modern client/server
architecture. This forms the basis for a highly efficient and robust
multi-user environment. VOODOO Server's CodeWarrior plug-in offers a
user-friendly version control solution that lets you keep track of
all your files without having to deal with additional complexity and
bureaucracy, all from inside the CodeWarrior IDE in an easy-to-use
Mac-like style.
Using an improved combination of delta storage and compression
technology VOODOO Server yields much better compression rates than
most other version control tools. The typical savings are in the
range 95 to 99 percent. These rates are achieved not only for text
files but for files of arbitrary type.
Since the protocol between client and server is based on the
AppleEvent Object Model every information is available via OSA
compliant scripting languages, too. This enables not only end users
to write their own scripts to automate their version control tasks
but also other software companies to easily add version control
functionality to their applications.
The VOODOO Server package includes a tutorial that lets you learn
anything you have to know within only a few hours.
UNI SOFTWARE PLUS will demonstrate VOODOO Server at their booth at
Developer Central and will gladly show everyone how easy and pleasant
version control can be.

Availability and Pricing
VOODOO Server 1.0 will be released early 1999 and can then be ordered
online directly from UNI SOFTWARE PLUS as well as from their
resellers.
VOODOO Server offers a modern floating license scheme which does not
force you to buy one license for every computer where you want to
install the client software. One server license entitles you to
install and run the server on one computer. The number of client
licenses you purchase determines the number of concurrent client
connections the server will allow.
