Computer Systems Odessa today released ConceptDraw 5.5, the latest version of its flowcharting and diagramming application for Mac OS X, as noted by MacUpdate. New features in version 5.5 include: facilitation of document exchange with MS Visio users by adding Export to XML for MS Visio; support of alpha-channel (users can use transparency for any object, line, filling, shades, texts); the possibility to choose a type – color in object’s custom properties (each object may have its own color palette); units of measurement were enlarged by adding possibility to use feet and inches, and pixels as object’s dimensions; and expanded Task-specific libraries of shapes. The Standard Edition (US$149) is aimed at business users, managers and administrative staff. The Professional Edition ($299) is designed specifically for IT, technical users and developers. Current users can upgrade the Professional version for $99 and the Standard license for $79.
