Networked Backups Using Time Machine

You've heard of Time Machine, right? One of Leopard's most-advertised new features, a complete backup solution so simple even my Aunt Agnes could use it. Just plug in an external drive, and Leopard asks if you want to use it for your backups. Click Yes, and then forget about it. You won't find a lot of customization. Take a look at the System Preferences. There are only three buttons. You can turn Time Machine on and off, select or change your backup drive, and choose files or folders to ignore. Most people will never need to touch these preferences, since Time Machine provides reasonable defaults. It will back up your entire hard drive and any internal drives, but ignore any attached volumes. Once the initial backup is complete, it will make an incremental backup every hour, recording any and all changes.
