Late News: MADA Expands Charter

Just as this issue was going to the printer, the Board of Directors voted to approve a new charter and adopted new bylaws. The charter expands MADA's scope of interest and support to object technology across multiple platforms and multiple frameworks.

Lest anyone panic, rest assured that MADA will continue to support MacApp as always. But the Association will also be directing its attention to other object technology, so that our members will have the information and resources they need in a rapidly changing marketplace.

The new charter is outlined in article 1 of the newly revised Association Bylaws:

ARTICLE I - STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The objectives of MADA shall be to provide the following services:
  1. encourage the use of object-oriented programming
  2. to bring together those with common interests
  3. to promote knowledge and skills
  4. to promote the exchange of information
  5. to represent the views of members to hardware and software vendors
  6. to encourage its own growth and future existence to and for the following groups:
    1. those developing software for Apple computers
    2. using the MacApp class library
    3. those developing software for Apple computers
    4. using other object-oriented methods
    5. those developing software using object-oriented methods in general
