Audioengine (www.audioengineusa.com) has expanded its line of HD Series speakers and previewed their next-generation HD3 Powered Desktop Speakers.

The speakers’ new woofers have diecast aluminum frames allowing the lower-end to really perform. Also new are the silk dome tweeters that have been upgraded for even smoother, more extended highs, superior stereo separation, and better imaging. The HD6 speaker cabinets are also a new design that are thicker and more stable which reduces unwanted resonances.

Beautiful and small, the Audioengine bookshelf speakers can be placed in an out-of-the-way nook anywhere in your home or office and can also be mounted on a wall or ceiling. The HD3 is designed with multiple inputs to accommodate all of these digital and analog sources.

HD3’s Bluetooth receiver, which supports the latest aptX and AAC codecs, has a range of about 100 feet so you can stream your music from almost anywhere in your house. Its USB input bypasses your computer’s low quality DAC for a higher fidelity listening experience, and its RCA and mini jack analog inputs round out its impressive suite of connections.
