Retale (www.retale.com), a location-based mobile platform connecting more than three million shoppers with their favorite local retailers, has announced the imminent launch of the Retale Apple Watch app. Apple’s smartwatch will go on sale in April.

Retale says its Apple Watch app will build upon the location-based features users have become accustomed to in using Retale on iOS. The Retale Apple Watch platform takes advantage of Retale’s drive-to-store emphasis by making its “Store Finder” a key component.

Retailer ads will also be visible on the Apple Watch, serving as an extension of Retale’s iPhone and iPad apps, allowing users to sync preferences, favorites, lists and actions across devices to create one of the most comprehensive and convenient multi-platform shopping experiences today.

Beyond its interconnectivity with other devices, Retale’s Apple Watch app will introduce new features to help users navigate their surroundings to track down items and the best deals locally, including nearby retailer options and intuitive map routing, says Retale President Pat Dermody. The app will also provide retailers an opportunity to act on in-app consumer intent and actions by serving up-to-date deals, news and proximity-based alerts right to users’ wrists.
