Spitfire Audio’s The Grange is a sample-based virtual instrument for Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player platform, that captures three legendary drummers: Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith; Queen’s Roger Taylor; and session stalwart Andy Gangadeen (Massive Attack and many more).

Working with these three outstanding performers permitted Spitfire Audio to create a modern-sounding, versatile set of samples, recorded via a combination of the finest and rarest classic mics, preamps, and a two-inch 24-track Studer multitrack recorder, ready to be transformed into a flexible sample-based virtual instrument to die (or drum up some money) for. The library is a combination of three deeply sampled kits with every hit played by three drumming legends alongside an array t of grooves, loops, phrases, and rolls.

The Grange is made up of six multi-sampled, realistic and “springy out of the box” kits. Loops and phrases all interlock together with a mixed and mixing system that either gives you quick instant gratification or deeper control of the host of rarefied mics used via Neve and API pre-amps to a two-inch vintage Studer tape machine.

The Grange can be purchased and downloaded directly from Spitfire Audio for about US$225 until Feb. 5; after this it will cost $300. This is a Native Instruments Kontakt Player library; no additional purchases are necessary to run this product to its full potential. Go to http://www.spitfireaudio.com/the-grange for more info.
