Parat Solutions’s (http://www.paratsolutions.com) ParaSync for the iPad mini and iPad Air is a cable-free docking system licensed by Apple and is especially designed to charge and synchronize institutional deployments of Apple tablets.

Every ParaSync dock automatically comes bundled with protective cases made of impact-resistant ABS and shock-absorbing silicone. The iPad mini case is available in two versions: standard, with the Home button exposed, or as a “Museum Case” with the Home button covered (with pinhole access) and a neck lanyard included.

To charge, you simply plug the dock into any standard wall outlet and insert up to 20 iPad minis or 10 iPad Airs into a slot. To sync content to the devices, tether the dock via the supplied USB cable to your Mac.  The ParaSync detects USB connectivity and automatically allows you to sync to your iTunes or Apple Configurator account. As an added convenience, LED indicators let you visually monitor the charge and sync status of the devices.

Each dock ships with iPad mini or iPad Air ParaSync Protector cases included.  Constructed with an inner silicone jacket and external ABS shell, the cases provide shock-absorbing protection. They also feature a handy two-position stand for ergonomic typing or hands-free viewing in landscape mode. Lifting the stand reveals the back of the device where you can apply and scan a security asset tag.

The receivers and cases are “keyed” to accommodate the ParaSync Protector Case, but not a third party case.  However, the receiver will work with devices that have no case.
