IPEVO’s US$159.99 iZiggi-HD Wireless Document Camera (http://tinyurl.com/pz2e97n) allows educators to stream documents, pictures, and 3D objects to an iPad. It can also “transform” the Apple tablet into a portable, interactive whiteboard through use of the free IPEVO Whiteboard app.

The iZiggi-HD is great for capturing large, fragile or unwieldy items which cannot easily be brought and placed underneath a traditional, wired doc cam. Inherited from previous generations of IPEVO doc cams is a multi-jointed swing-arm, which provides a variety of angles and heights for capture. Also present is a 270 swiveling head which allows faster and easier orientation to ensure readable text. Additional features serve to customize capture, including an exposure toggle and two switchable focus modes.

The iZiggi-HD’s 5-megapixel camera delivers a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels via Wi-Fi and 2592 x 1944 pixels when connected directly to a Mac or PC. A 6x digital zoom provides the ability to capture fine details.

Also available is a wired computer connection IPEVO Presenter software, which adds features such as full screen mode, integrated Evernote support, and a review mode to capture snapshots. A USB storage device can be connected to the iZiggi-HD, allowing you to wirelessly share access to stored files and to save captured snapshots.
