Assimilate has rolled out version 8 of its Scratch and Scratch Lab software to allow encoding of Apple ProRes files on Microsoft Windows 7/8-based PCs.

The Scratch data-centric DI system is an end-to-end cinema and broadcast imaging tool. Artists on-set or in post production can now use both the OS X and Windows versions of the software. It supports most popular digital workflows, including, RED, ARRI, Sony F65 and F55, Canon 5D, Phantom, GoPro and more.

Assimilate offers pricing options for individual artists or studios: annual subscription, daily/monthly rental, site license, or purchase.
