CamRanger (www.camranger.com) has introduced theCamRanger device and associated iOS app that enables wireless tethering control of Canon or Nikon DSLRs from an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.

CamRanger offers a high level of camera control, with no computer or Internet required. Advanced features — such as live view, touch focusing, image capture, full image resolution viewing, movie recording, change settings and more — are all controlled wirelessly from an iOS device.

From an iOS device CamRanger provides control of a camera, including the following features: live view, touch focusing, image capture & photo viewing, the zoom in on full resolution images (JPG and Canon RAW), movie recording with touch focusing on select cameras, the ability to view and set camera settings, focus stacking, intervalometer (time-lapse), and HDR bracketing. It also gives control over more advanced settings such as shooting mode, image format, focus mode, and exposure compensation and bracketing.

The CamRanger device — available for US$299 for a limited time — is about the size of an iPhone and is powered by a rechargeable, replaceable battery. The CamRanger app is free and available at the Apple App Store.
