Apple sold 37.04 million iPhones in the first fiscal quarter of the year, representing 128% unit growth over the year-ago quarter. The company saw sales growth in all areas thanks to the popularity of the iPhone 4S, according to Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer.

The company began shipping iPhone 4S in China and other countries this quarter. It’s now on sale in 90 countries.

“We were thrilled with the number of iPhones we sold,” says CEO Tim Cook. “That’s up 128%, against a market growth rate of 40%.”
