Nova Media’s UberMask (http://www.novamedia.de/index_e.html) for Mac OS X (10.6 and higher) is now available at the Mac App Store for US$11.99.
UberMask hides files and folders with a keystroke from curious eyes and inadvertent discovery. Even Spotlight can’t find the files hidden by UberMask.
A special hotkey can be defined to hide all previously selected files and folders with one keystroke. Another hotkey can be used to hide or reveal single files and folders.
UberMask runs invisible in the background so that the launch of the app isn’t required to use the hotkeys. The app itself keeps track of all hidden files and is password protected to prevent unauthorized access to UberMask.
