newPCgadgets (http://www.newpcgadgets.com/) has added the US$74.95 Security Base to their existing line of iPad 2 display docks. It’s designed for applications such as point-of-purchase displays, trade shows, and other public venues where theft is a concern.
`This new Security Base is a beefed up version of their original Display Dock and includes additional features to secure both the iPad 2 and the base. Constructed from a solid 1 1/4-inch clear acrylic the security base weighs close to three pounds.
Just like in the Apple Store, the Security Base can be secured to a table or counter with heavy duty 3M pressure sensitive adhesive. The Base also comes with screw holes as an additional option for securing. It’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
