Apple has launched Joint Venture (http://www.apple.com/retail/jointventure/), a retail-based service. It’s an extension of Apple’s current Genius Bar services aimed at small businesses and prosumers.

According to Apple, Joint Venture is a program designed to help you use your Mac, iPhone, and iPad to improve the way your business runs. The JV team will set up your new Apple products, train your employees to get the most out of them, and make sure everything stays working with dedicated support.

Apple says it will work with you from the beginning to make sure your new systems are up and ready to use, usually within 24 hours. “We’ll transfer your existing data — including your mail, calendar, and address book — from your PC or Mac, and install any additional software you’ve purchased from the Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store,” the company says.

Apple will also activate your Joint Venture website so you can access every Joint Venture service — schedule training, book appointments, get tech support, and sign up for workshops. Joint Venture clients can schedule up to three two-hour sessions of training at the Apple Store for your employees.

The service requires buying a new Mac and paying at least US$499 per year. This price covers up to four other systems that can include not just Macs but iPhones, iPods, iPads or even Cinema Displays. Up to 100 systems can be brought under Joint Venture.
